Sarah’s interest in real estate began more than 12 years ago when she bought her first home. She saw how the process could be streamlined and how problems could be avoided in what can be a time-consuming and stressful endeavor. She earned her REALTOR® designation in 2005. Since then, she’s built a reputation on putting the concerns of her clients first, starting with finding them the ideal home for their needs and wants, and following through on every aspect of the transaction. Her commitment to sellers is the same.
Her years of experience allow her keep calm in tense situations and navigate forward on behalf of her clients. She’s also handled many technically challenging transactions with success, and carries over that level of dedication with the research she does regarding any property. She and her partner, Neal, research the available information about a target property, which lets them anticipate any hurdles for their clients before they become roadblocks.
Sarah’s background as a founding member of a local boutique real estate brokerage and a commercial contracting group prepared her for managing a wide range of personalities. She learned to create situations where parties are treated equitably. This is especially important and valuable in real estate because almost everyone in the transaction has a different background, a different level of experience and, often times, different expectations.
As a REALTOR®, she continues to push herself to serve her clients better. For example:
Sarah is a Certified Military Residential Specialist, which means she’s been trained in how service members’ needs are different and how the financing process may vary to their advantage.
She also holds a GREEN designation from the National Association of REALTORS® to expertly serve those clients who are especially interested in sustainable construction, energy efficiency and tax incentives for certain home improvements.
With a Workforce Housing Certification, Sarah has extended her knowledge of home ownership for people who qualify for incentive programs. She and Neal are advocates for the buyer who doesn’t have a lot of funds but is credit-worthy. They can help to coordinate financing and find a property that matches the level of the loan for which they’ve been approved. This ties in well with her role as Chair of the Housing Affordability Committee for the Maryland Association of REALTORS®.
Sarah is a founding member of BizCon-X of Central Maryland, which is a networking group of vetted business owners who connect one another with quality referrals and create opportunities to volunteer within their communities. You will find her volunteering at the food bank and serving as community counselor to those in need in her spare time.
Neal has been part of the real estate industry since 2008, as both an investment-property owner and a mortgage professional. With this background, he understands the lending process and how he can help his clients can make this necessary step easier on themselves. His first home-buying experience wasn’t a positive one, so he also knows how things can go wrong and the steps he can take to look out for his clients.
Most interestingly, it may be his 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry that has prepared him best for real estate. Neal knows how to take care of people and make them feel comfortable throughout the transaction. He is genuinely interested in getting to know people to uncover what it is they need and how he can help. His goal is to communicate with clients often to coach them thorough the transaction and make it as seamless as possible.
Sarah and Neal reside in Catonsville with their dog, Pete. They enjoy serving the central MD market, and sometimes you’ll even find them working on the Eastern Shore and in the Western counties. Sarah holds a degree from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, and has advanced professional training from a variety of organizations. Neal holds a degree from Lyndon State. They enjoy cooking and eating tasty food, running with the dog, and participating in area triathlons and festivals.
